Adam Pratt

Adam Pratt is an arcade industry writer, operator, and consultant who has worked in the amusement business since 1999, starting at a family entertainment center, with nearly two decades of hands-on experience as an operator and publisher.

He joined Arcade Heroes in 2007 and became the site's owner in 2010. Since then, writing under the byline Shaggy, he has written thousands of articles covering arcade games, manufacturers, trade shows, new releases, and the wider out-of-home entertainment industry.

Adam has also operated his own arcade business in Utah since 2008, now known as Arcade Galactic. This gives him first-hand experience with arcade game selection, operation, maintenance, customer behavior, and the commercial realities of running an arcade.

In addition to Arcade Heroes and Arcade Galactic, Adam writes the long-running Endgame column for RePlay Magazine and has contributed to publications including Old School Gamer Magazine. He has also authored books about the arcade industry.

As a JVL author and reviewer, Adam brings together the perspectives of an arcade operator, industry journalist, and long-time player to evaluate arcade products and educational content for accuracy, practical relevance, and usefulness.
